CENTRAL SECRETARIAT OFFICIAL LANGUAGE SERVICE

 8.1      The Central Secretariat Official Language Service was constituted in 1981, consequent upon the decision of the Kendriya Hindi Samiti in 1976, with a view to bring all the Hindi posts created in different Ministries/ Departments and their attached offices in an integrated cadre and to provide uniform service conditions, pay scales and promotional avenues to the incumbents.  The Department of Official Language is its Cadre Controlling Authority.  This Service includes all Hindi Posts of Ministries/ Departments of the Government of India and their attached Offices excepting a few scientific and technical departments viz. Department of Information Technology and Space and Atomic Energy etc.  Consequent to the recommendations of the Fifth Central Pay Commission & the decision of the Government the Central Secretariat Official Language Services has been re-structured as under:-

 8.2.    The cadre of the Service consists of 837 posts in the above grades.  The posts are in various Ministries/ Departments/ Attached Offices of the Govt. of India located in Delhi except 72 posts outside Delhi.

 8.3.      Consequent upon constitution of the cadre, promotional opportunities have improved for the persons working in various Ministries/ Departments and their attached offices against Hindi Posts.

 8.4       In compliance to the recommendation No.11.10.14, as contained in the Presidential Orders on the 6th Report of the Committee of Parliament on Official Language, regarding betterment of promotional avenues of Hindi Officials working in the Subordinate Offices/ PSUs etc., an emphasis is being made for constituting separate cadres for the Hindi officials by all the Ministries/ Departments in each subordinate office/ PSU etc..
